The west coast, in general, is known to be very sunny and warm. Arizona and New Mexico are very similar in temperature. They are both known to be places of "dry heat". There are also places in Texas that are very much similar, like San Antonio. Houston, on the other hand, differs somewhat. They have pretty EXTREME weather changes, unlike most states.
The East coast is much different. Can you say COLD? States like New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut can get VERY COLD at certain times. Mostly during the winter time, then during the summer it is HUMID and STICKY. This again depends on how "mother nature" is acting that day. The East, in general, is a completely different "world", it seems.
You couldn't get ME to live in the eastern states. All the snow, and the sickness. COLD weather has been known to lead to sickness, hence the name, "COLD". I would not be able to wake up in the morning, and shovel snow each and every day. My relatives are from Ohio, so believe me, they tell me about it all the time!
On the other hand, the west can be very UNCOMFORTABLE as well. The summer days in Phoenix are NO picnic! It gets from 110-115 degrees in the summer time. Some people have a hard time handling this also. I guess that it just depends on what you are used to. I'm a native born Phoenician, so I would have to say that the temperatures in the west are much better!
